Acorns is currently registered for 44 children as a daycare facility at 64 Doagh Road and 24 children at our after school facility at 126 Doagh Road.
We are early years registered and vetted by social services, adhering to all nursery provision requirements and legislation. We maintain the necessary records, policies and procedures that are required for efficient and safe management of the nursery. Our annual inspection reports and a copy of all policies are available on request.
We offer a structured curriculum which is designed and delivered through observations and themes. Our staff work together to develop age appropriate, mentally stimulating environments for the children.
The nursery’s security is a buzzer system. No one can enter the nursery unless buzzed in by staff. All side gates leading from the back garden are secured with a padlock.
At Acorns we understand the importance of a healthy well balanced diet for children, therefore we provide nutritional meals, with a strong focus on fresh fruit and vegetables. All meals are prepared on site, home made with fresh ingredients. We provide fresh water and milk to drink throughout the day. Acorns also follows the guidelines of the local council programme ‘ Nutritious Nursery Nosh’ and have received a food hygiene rating level 5.
Our staff are trained to a very high standard. Along with their childcare qualifications they are trained in first aid, child protection, food hygiene and fire safety along with many other courses. Staff continually update their personal development profile by attending relevant courses and workshops regularly.
We recommend that your child has a settling in period to enable them to become comfortable with staff, allow them to adapt to the nursery routine and become familiar with nursery life. The length of the settling in period will depend on the individual child.
